Petrichor: The Missing Lies of Taiping (2026)

Petrichor: The Missing Lies of Taiping is a mockumentary set in Taiping after decades’ heaviest rainfall triggers a strange phenomenon: residents lose the ability to lie verbally. Through interviews with people from different walks of life, the film explores how a truth-only society affects relationships, careers, and daily life. As hidden truths surface and silence replaces deception, the people of Taiping discover both the challenges and unexpected freedom of honesty. Blending humour, social commentary, and speculative fiction, the film questions the complicated role lies play in human society.
